Detachable Chair Spacing:Detachable Chair Spacing

About chairs entering the terminal late:
this is common to all vintage POMA's - just an early (bad) design it seems.

  • It helps to train operators to watch cadence chain spacing on cold start-ups, also make sure lift runs at full speed for as long as possible.
  • Got closer to solving the problem by adding a few more lbs. of air to accelerator tires. When slightly worn you can change or exchange these tires with the other nonessential ones.
  • Also have found that as chairs enter a terminal they will gain space if you use the worn tires as decelerator tires.
  • Other odd items are an odd tire that has a circumference or diameter that is quite different from the rest of the bunch.

I suspect that the old "snomo" shove helping the first few out of the terminal on a cold day is used by more than one area.

Best of Luck-
