Did they not have grip ramps on the C-S detachable grip, or are they just not there on that model?

Just the model.

That would be on the stupid side not having grip ramps.

You don't notice it until the grip passes under a depression tower... then things get interesting. We've got a big note in the TB shop reminding us to put the needles back on after we've worked on the grip. Apparently someone forgot once, and the grip broke all the derail switches on the combo towers as it went through them. I saw one missing the fronto needle on the Big Red at Whistler, and it made a huge racket at every depression.

The old Müller at Habitant had no ramps  . We could hear the tower #8 from 2 trails further. . Also the crossarm was swinging when a chair was passing. :stretcher: .

Where going off topic, but that Doppelmayr CTEC HSQ pictured above is NOT the UNI-GS, it's the UNI-G.

I know that this is off topic but does anybody know where there are still fixed grip Carlevaro Savio lifts still in operation? The reason I ask is because we have a field full of parts that we are looking to get rid of.....I would like to find someone that could use them rather than see it all go for scrap.

Thanks

Hi Shawn,
I tried to send you a PM, but I don't know if it sent. Do you still have that lift? I may know of an area that would be interested. Contact me through my email at albas@charter.net

Also, I have pictures of that lift (and others) from my visits there last summer and last ski season. They are on my web site "A Look Back At Skiing".

I also have anAerial Tramways, Lifts and Tows booklet on my site that you may all be interested in.
