I was just checking out Sun Valley, Idaho's website today and saw that it published its future expansion plans. There looks to be a new base village along with a gondola. I don't have fast enough internet to see the 'master plan web presentation', so you guys will have to fill me in. :)

I will try to find some info while I'm there this summer. ;)

It works, just not right now. I think they wer doing site backup because I can't go to sunvalley.com right now. But maybe it doesn't work at night to save on bandwidth or something?

The 'transport gondola:' is that going up the mountain or around the village?

It looks to me like the Transport Gondola goes from Sun Valley Village (hotel area) to the base of River Run. Purely transport.

Maybe they'll put in a Cabriolet like The Canyons did

I like the Cabriolet idea, especially for short distances, but I have heard of complaints from guests that it is too cold in the winter months. I bet Sun Valley opts for an enlcosed cabin since it is quite a distance in their case.

That's true, it does get kinda cold. I always put my goggles on and pull my neck warmer up for the Cabriolet rides.

The reason why resorts choose a cabriolet over a gondola is because they are A LOT cheaper. Would you pay $20,000 for each cabin or choose the cabriolet cabin for only like $3,000 to $5,000 a piece?
