The new Rabbit Triple is at Shawnee Peak waiting for install. I took a closeup of one of the sheaves as they are now stamped "Partek" and "Made in USA." Maybe they've done this for a while?? The ones I deal with are from '86 and say "Leitner", "Made in Italy." Last one is of structure components for the drive terminal.

Sky Trac has been busy building line equipment in the parking lot. Looking nice can't wait to see this stuff fly.

Beaver Creek has flown in the new towers for the new Centennial combination lift, it has 25 towers and they say that it is the longest vertical lift of its kind.

I was at Breckenridge today to visit the fun park, and get some photos of the Colorado SuperChair construction. All of the towers are up, save for tower 1. They had a truck ready to haul away the original lift's disassembled parts from the staging area off the Independence SuperChair near tower 3.

It looks like there will be a single hold-down tower at the bottom of the new lift, like the original, since tower 2 is already up and it's on the same foundation as the original tower. Given the line profile and some photos I got of the upper part of the line from the Independence SuperChair, I think there are at least three, maybe four towers with combi assemblies, tower 14 being one of them for certain (if the Breckenridge FB page is any indicator). I think the others might be tower 10 and either tower 11 or tower 9.

.
Here are a few of my photos:

There's a noticeable contrast in designs when you put the Colorado SuperChair's towers in the same photo as the Rocky Mountain SuperChair:

As I mentioned, the parts from the old Colorado SuperChair were lying off the Independence SuperChair lift line near tower 3, on the exit from Fort Mary B.

I call this photo A Tale of Two Colorado SuperChairs, because the original lies in pieces in the foreground, and the new lift can be sen in the background. I don't recall, however, the shack there being one of the operator's shacks (though I'm thinking it might be the one from the upper terminal):

One of the bullwheels lying on the ground on the opposite side of the Independence SuperChair from the rest of the pieces. I can't be sure whether this was the one from the bottom or from the top terminal:

I kinda recall how when Zendo and the Kensho SuperChair were being built last year, parts from both lifts were stored in this same clearing. I also recall that Fort Mary B did not open until late December, well after the rest of Peak 7 had opened, and as late as December 21st there were still Leitner-Poma trucks parked where those old lift pieces are in this photo:

Here's the under-construction Colorado SuperChair from the Independence SuperChair.

You can see that there is a 4S2C (both sides; 4 support, 2 compression) tower right after the lift crosses over where Callie's Alley empties onto Spruce. I think that's tower 14.

The other lift project I'd heard of was that the resort was going to put the Omega carriers that the original Colorado SuperChair received in 2012 on the Beaver Run SuperChair. While I could clearly see chairs on the line, I never got to make it over to Beaver Run base area to take a look. Therefore, these two photographs of the Beaver Run SuperChair were taken from the plaza outside the Gondola's town terminal, at full zoom, and that means they're a bit too blurry for me to tell if they had already completed chair replacement, or those were the original chairs still on the line. Even when I made sure to use an angle that also caught parts of the Mercury SuperChair (which has always used Omega chairs). So perhaps there's some ski resort employee who knows exactly what the status of that project is.

Donald-- in answer to your question about the bullwheel lying in the dirt, that's the old drive (top) sheave.

It's to my understanding that he is a sub. for Sky Trac. Yes it is Tim He is working on the Kachina Peak Triple being built at Taos Ski Valley.
