COskier emailed me that snowflake was put in the late 90's not the 80's as I had on my site. I checked the maps and this is true however I remember a Poma double going under the colorado superchair (mabey even sharing a tower) when I was there in 93. This was called chair 2. I noticed that around the time snowflake appeared on maps chair 2 disappeared. Now I know Chiar 2 was originally a Heron. Was it replaced in the 80s by a poma double or did the Heron remain until the mid 90's. Snowflake looks like it has poma parts from the 80's could it have been chair 2 reconfigured? My old engaged mind is already starting to fail! :---:

Ok, I know pretty much the history of Brecks lifts. The old Chair 2 was taken out for the 97 ski season. At this time to ease the long lifts at the base of the colorado superchari the Rocky Mountain super chair was put in along witht he mercury on peak 8. The snowflake lift went in for the 96 ski season, a year before 2 was removed. Chair 2 was scrapped. It was built in the early 60's possibly when Breck first opened. The snowflake lift was built by poma with no parts from the old 2 Chair. Snowflake is a strictly Poma lift. Hope this helps Dave.

Yes the Colorado Superchair did cross the 2 line but it went above it I believe. I don't think the lifts shared towers becase the double towers could not support the quad towers.
