I noticed that Silver Star has posted it's expansion plans on its website. Plans call for a pretty big village along with two new high-speed quads.

• The Summit Express – a new high-speed quad lift which will eventually replace the Summit Double Chairlift.
• The "Silver Woods" Express – a new high speed quad which will open up new ski and snowboard terrain from below the existing Vance Creek Express.

However, there seems to be more new lifts after looking at the village plans.

I would imagine they would also get rid of the T-Bars eventually.

The summit chair is a mueller and in very good condition. As for the t-bars the home run t-bar would not likely be replaced anytime soon as it was installed at the same time the Powder Gulch Express was

It's a Mueller with Riblet insert grips. Same with the Yellow chair also at SS - don't know about the grips on that one though.

Mueller is in Vernon and have been for a while, which is the same town as SilverStar. Doppelmayr/CTEC & Leitner/Poma are in Kelowna.

It is interesting that they called the Comet Express: Vance Creek
As i beleive this is the name of the old Yan express Quad

That would be weird if they used the name of a yan high-speed after what happened at Whistler. ;)

Vance Creek is the drainage area that the Comet Express is in. 99% of the skiing public would have no idea that the old lift was the same type that was at Whistler.

They would pry lose some skiers in that area even though the Yan is long gone.

As much as it seems like the general skiing public should know as much about lifts as we do, they really don't know anything. : :D :

I know most people have no idea what the difference between a highspeed and fixed grip is.

Give them some credit... they just use different terminology, like "the slow chair" and "the fast chair" :D

True but you ask them why a fast lift would be hard to get on and they say "because its faster than the slow lift." :---:
