An interesting thing: Last year, mid-season, they opened a terrain park along the old rope tow at the top of chair 1, and managed to restore the old rope tow, which I am pretty sure hadn't been operated since the 90's. The thing was made almost entirely of wood. The old rope tow's tensioning system was completely broken, the haul rope actually dragged along the snow. This season, the rope tow was replaced. It doesn't surprise me, but there were absolutely no plans to replace it. It just spontaneously appeared this summer.
There are also two new runs down chair 1: a green and a blue.
Almost every rope tow I ever rode was like that. Unless you have the perfect profile, the rope will almost always drag on the ground. We used to put bamboo under the rope at Baker to keep the rope from gouging itself a groove into the snow. Now that I'm
