Hopefully Vail has made more progress than meets the eye on the new chair 4 (Mtn Top Express). In comparison, Wolf Creek has the new Treasure quad bottom terminal completely assembled.

Well they've finished tree clearing and tower-foundation laying as of this morning.

Still a lot of work to do there! Looks like the line was shifted over quite a bit, as well. Probably to avoid the need to do additional clearing. Gorgeous views, as ever!

Here are some good images of the new bottom terminal locations at Bridger Bowl. They are planning are completely revamping their names for the lifts. One of the new lifts will remain Alpine while the other new lift will steal Powder Park away from the quad lift that operates out of the base. The quad will then be renamed Sunnyside. Here is the full article from the local paper in Bozeman. http://www.bozemanda...19bb2963f4.html

Those Photos are a little old, the bottom concrete work is well on its way and the top terminals should be up within the next week. I left that job about a week ago to return to school . I'll post some shots soon, unfortunately I don't have many, I was too busy Working.

Lift line is basically the same. The view, hard pressed to get a better view of the big lake anywhere! 2 new trails, both with winch points, were also cut on backside between The Plunge and the top of the Bull Chair....

Towers are flying at Vail today. The Vail webcam shows two new Chair 4 towers have popped up in the past hour. I also caught a glimpse of the the helo on the cam.

This picture was posted on Vail's Facebook page recently, and it shows one of the Mountaintop Express lift's terminal pieces being transported by truck up the mountain. Based on its appearance, it's going to be using detachable grips similar to those used on the Doppelmayr-CTEC high speed quads at Beaver Creek.

Leitner Poma has galleries up for lift construction on both Peak 6 lifts. Here's the one for the fixed grip quad: http://leitner-poma....d-breckenridge/ It appears that it will be a bottom drive lift, like the six pack will be.

It'll be a top drive. The terminal you see is the fixed return wheel that goes with the Alpha drive station. The hill slopes up beyond the terminal. I imagine they wanted to trench power as little as possible, so both lifts' drives will be in the same spot.

Well I was having a hard time telling in this photo: http://leitner-poma..../2013/07/22.jpg and comparing it to pictures of the Snowflake lift, which is also bottom drive. I know that the terminals and towers will look like the Big Blue Express at Squaw (http://leitner-poma..../SQUAW-3-JF.jpg, and http://leitner-poma....2012/10/sq2.jpg). In fact, I think the new style of towerheads is a retro style, given that the tower heads slant outwards from the crossarms, like the towers on the Falcon SuperChair (http://www.panoramio.../photo/85185796).

I know, I'm double posting, but Breckenridge also released this video here a few days ago: http://www.youtube.c...eature=youtu.be. Apparently, the six pack will have a custom wood skin similar to that seen on a number of European high speed quads, six packs, and eight packs. I think Breckenridge is going for the same type of terminal appearance that Crested Butte had done to their high speed quads in 2004.
