I was actually headed back to Denver today from Grand Junction and we got held at the Eisenhower Tunnel (which we reached around 5:00 PM). I guess this search-and-rescue operation would explain why I saw no cars on US 6 and why they were doing Hazmat stops on the tunnel despite US 6 clearly looking passable.
