Basically, Skilifts.org user rodo_af visited Utah this past December and documented many ski lifts at several ski areas. Solitude is the first ski area he wrote the reports on, but others will be following. These are done on the French ski lift website "remontees-mecaniques" but I thought people here would be interested. If there isn't any interest, then I won't post updates on his reports in the future.
Solitude: http://www.remontees...tation-807.html
He also earlier today posted a report on the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway which also might be of interest:

Nice photos. That site's not bad, but Google Translate can make navigation easier.

Well if you know what you are looking for, it isn't too difficult to decipher the language.
I hope Brighton, Snowbird, Park City, Canyons, Deer Valley, might be some of the other reports.

Brighton, Alta, and some Park City lifts will be posted in the coming weeks. But I do not believe he went to Deer Valley and the Canyons because not much was open at the time. And he went to Snowbird, but I think it was snowing the whole time so he could not have taken very good pictures if he even tried. I'm hoping we will find a way to do the Gad II lift before it's gone. I already found someone on a different forum to help, but if someone else wanted to help, we could select the best of the best photographs.
By the way, I hope I am not annoying people coming to skilifts.org and talking about a different ski lifts website. I can stop if that is preferred.

Oh, no, it's fine. I mean, it's not trying to compete for website traffic.
I think that since this site's photos of the Alta lifts, Alta has installed safety bars on their chairlifts.

remontees-mecaniques is a pretty comprehensive site regarding lifts, although I think there might be too many photos of towers (in a way, one is like the next.) Definitely interesting to see things that either aren't available here or are simply different than the way we do things. I also like the abbreviations the French have; TSD is much easier to deal with than having to write 'detachable chairlift' or whatever.

I have noticed this too, although they seem to put a huge emphasis on the size and type of each sheave train on each tower.

Yeah. Some additional scenery shots not relating to the towers would help. I'm sure that if you were to do a lift like the Paradise Express on that page, you would want scenery shots included.
