The sign at the bottom of Mt Vernon Canyon said 1 1/2 hours to Idaho Springs yesterday. We immediately bailed for 285. More scenic that way anyway.

Less of a cell phone signal, though. Reception's not good on some portions of that highway.

How much longer into Denver is that route? I have never taken it but have been tempted on more than one occassion this season.

From Leadville it's around 2 1/2 hours versus the 91/70 route at two. Definitely slower but the passes don't close and you feel you're making mileage the whole time. I imagine sitting on 70 is a pain on a Sunday afternoon.

Being as I don't answer my phone while driving, or turn it off, that part doesn't bother me :)

Well I was thinking of Bluetooth.

I think there have been a few occasions where Kenosha Pass has been closed due to visibility.

On the original subject, another thing I get irked on is people who think single turn lanes are double turn lanes and use that space that you're not supposed to be in as a turn lane just to save time. I've seen it happen twice at one particular intersection.

Really, all distractions that interfere with driving are a problem. It is surprising that manufacturers continue to stuff dash panels with an ever increasing number of things that require the attention of a driver. The show is on the other side the front window, and one should not miss a moment of it.

Emax you just don't understand car sales and marketing.

That's a fact.

I second that motion. I do one thing in my Honda Civic: drive it. I have 88.1 (classical music) on instead of those rock music stations. Now I'm almost 17, but I've only been driving for eight months, and I have not gotten pulled over or been in an accident once. But me being autistic and having asperger's syndrome probably makes me more cautious than a normal person.

Not necessarily a bad thing. I sometimes am frustrated following people I think are driving too slow, but they're not going to cause an accident either.

As in, say, anyone going 10 mph below the speed limit when there is no real reason for them to be doing so?

On Highway 91, it's more like 20 under but yeah.
