SAM Magazine--December 26, 2012--Brian Head Resort in southern Utah, announced that as of December 20, the area is under new ownership. The resort was purchased for an undisclosed amount out of receivership from Zion's First National Bank. The new owners are Brian Head Acquisition Partners, LLC, formed out of two groups, one from California and one from Missouri.

Brian Head Resort runs on a total of 636 acres, of which 332 are owned by the resort, 738 acres are leased from the U.S. Forest Service and 36 acres are leased from the State of Utah. Brian Head uses a total of 660 acres for skiing and snowboarding.

"We are looking forward to exciting new changes and planned improvements that will substantially enhance the guest experience and take the resort to an even higher level of winter and summer recreation," says Burke Wilkerson, VP and GM. In the meantime, it's business as usual for the resort, which is in the midst of a very white Christmas/New Year's.

Should be interesting to see what improvements they have planned...

"Brain head"? Very interesting name for a resort. Does that mean they only allow geniuses with high IQs to visit? :)

Just joking.

Oh, it's "head"? I misread it as "dead".

Brain Dead Resort  would be a very interesting place to send less intelligent people. A bit :offtopic:, but hey, typos give things new meaning!

I've not seen Brian Head for myself, but I know from this site that they've got lots of Yan lifts. I figure maybe the new owners plan on upgrading a few of the lifts. Probably nothing in the lines of any high speed quads, but maybe fixed-grip quads at most, given the size of the area.

I work for them - and have always thought that it's a dumb name.
BTW - only geniuses work there. :angelic:

The better plan would be to sell those DoppTecs off and put a few relocated Yans in, they've got a Yan wizard up there, no reason to have something other than those... Also I can't speak for the entire resort don't know them all but I know one of them definately is a genius, maybe a mad genius (best kind, and probably the only kind Yan hired...), but definately a genius...
