So they don't manufacture the lifts, they refurbish and install them. They'll still be Yans or Riblets or whatever.

The article above says everything on these lifts is brand new except the tower tubes. I will be interested to see pics of their "new design."

Just a little tidbit on Skytrans: they are descended from the company Hopkins, itself a descendent of the famous bridge building company Roebling.

Powder Mountain Is now replacing the Sundown lift. Seems like a late start, another SkyTrac lift.

Oddly enough, I made the three hour drive there on a scenic drive both yesterday and last week (needed to stock up on Heady Topper :). Spoke with a mountain host and he said the resort is investing $90 million in upgrades and expansion this summer. All sorts of construction was taking place on the Spruce side in the village. The gondola is currently being worked on...drive bullwheel is laying in the Midway parking lot and all cabins are sitting on pallets with the grips and hangers removed. The towers for both Alpine and Easy Street double chairs are still standing. They are also throwing a bunch of money at snowmaking. And a zip line (four stage??) that goes from top of the Gondola to right behind Mountain Ops building - about 2,100 vertical. Impressive summer season!

According to the article below, Cherry Peak's third triple is from Squaw.
http://www.standard....ontroversy.html

Squaw removed four lifts in 2012. The terminals from the High Camp double and the chairs/towers from East Broadway went to create the Mountain Meadow chair. The 3rd Cherry Peak lift will probably be the leftover East Broadway terminals mixed with whatever chairs and towers remain from the Blackcomb and Sun Valley triples.

If that all proves correct, Cherry Peak's lifts will be 1978, 1980 and 1983 Yan triples.

I thought Cherry Peak might go for Brian Head's Giant Steps lift (1983 Yan triple) but I guess not.

Back in 2010 ( I think) High Camp was modified into a triple. When High camp was removed, it was the source for what is now Mountain Meadow. The chair at Cherry Peak could be entirely East Broadway. Although I thought that I saw something a while back about C2 was being sold to Cherry Peak on Squaws facebook page.

Edit:

Ok found the post https://www.facebook...52439682489044. I don't think the linked article says weather the chair from Squaw is a double or triple.

Cherry Peak's homepage says 3 triple chairs. Has Olympic Lady been removed too? It was also for sale.

From what I can kind-of see in this picture from the DMRA Facebook page (it's not the best image), the design looks like a 1980s/90s VonRoll:

Another one I heard about...Plumas Ski Club in Johnsville, CA got Squaw's Mainline double. The bottom terminal is already up but the lift may not be finished until next summer.

They've been working on it for a while now. They've been moving a bunch of dirt to reshape the area prior to building the new lift.

The vault for the loading carpet on Spruce at Sunday River is nearing completion. Steel should be arriving soon.

In the negative department, rumor has it that this is the last year for the Von Roll gondola at Six Flags New England. It has some unique 3 seat open air "cabins" where you sit sideways.

Below is an updated list. This might be the first year since the Doppelmayr-CTEC merger in 2002 that someone else builds more lifts.
