Because the ski season is from June to October in Australia, we don't often see elves or Santa on chairlifts, but the ski resort of Mt Buller in the state of Victoria does have some resident gnomes. They have been seen riding chairlifts, but I haven't found any pictures of this.
The resort has recruited the gnomes as part of their publicity team and although they spend all winter skiing, they do conduct "Gnome Roam" tours in summer. Click this link for the booklet
