Tomorrow morning my mom, sister, and I leave for a 10 day trip to New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. I am going to write a blog entry every night on this trip, and also when my sister and I go with our grandma to Alaska later in the summer. I thought that it might be of interest to some of you, especially since I will be visiting several ski areas on each trip, so I will have some new lift pictures. I will add most of these pictures here after I take them, but I will include some on the blog. My blogs address is: www.

Now, a little about where I've been all winter:
We ended up spending all of our time in the winter fixing up a house that we now have a renter in, so there was no time for a ski trip. By the time that we probably could have gotten away for a while, almost all of the snow in Colorado was gone. This "project" also kept me from posting, and even checking the forums here more than I would have liked. Anyway these trips are all the more exciting to me because of all this. I only got eight afternoons/nights of skiing in at Hidden Valley, and even at that, the snow was almost completely horrible this year. The season lasted from January 4th to February 26th, so it was the shortest one that I can remember. Probably only two or three of the nights that we skied was it even below freezing. All of this aside, however, we still did have some fun there, and look forward to the new lift and runs next season.

I should get to take some lift pictures tomorrow, because we are visiting Lake Placid, so we will drive up to Whiteface Mountain.

That is true, and I am thankful to have Hidden Valley so close to our house.

On another note, the mountains here in the east are quite a bit more rugged looking than what I would have expected, even with all the pictures that I have seen of them.
