It's not that easy especially if you haven't built any before. At the time M-L built lifts, there weren't too many combo assemblies anyway, and Riblet built most or all of them.
I'll be interested to see a 3-sheave M-L assembly as I didn't think they built any.

Ive never seen one either, isn't the orange chair at Whistler a ML with dopp chairs?

Oops, i confused Miner-Denver with Murray-Latta.

No, it's pure Murray-Latta. The carriers have footrests unlike most other M-L lifts, so it may appear like a Doppelmayr.

Another Murray Latta Buckhorn Chair built in 1967 at Kimberley. The line was off so i assume that it doesnt run, do you think they are going to sell it or just scrap it?

You mean the rope was off, or just all the carriers? It would make sense if they are removing it - now that they have the quad it is redundant.

The rope was off. Ya they have the Yan Triple and the HSQ so they probably dont need it.

I actually saw a classified add for the Kimberely ML chair in a SAM magaizine a couple of years ago, as far as I know they still want to sell it. It would be a shame for them to scrap it I spent many winters riding that chair and they had just retrofitted it with safety bars a couple of years before they installed the Leitner HSQ. The trip would put your butt to sleep but there is something about riding an old double.

No one should be missing Murray Latta lifts.....For Damn sure shouldn't be sheading any tears!!! They are doing just fine with thier bike racks and such. (I'm jealous I didn't weld up a few first... Whistler alone probably has a million dollars worth)

You sound like you're not their biggest fan. I didn't mind them (although changing interior sheaves was difficult to say the least).

It seems that the earlier murray lattas had outer poles or whatever its called and the newer ones have centerpole

I don't know if that's entirely true- Hyak's Chair 1 was built in '64 and is centrepole; Baker's chairs 3 and 4 were as well and were built in '68. I think it was customer's choice like Riblet.

Kimberley has the old Larch chair from LL its called the Tamarack chair. It's a ML

From some of the recent things that I have read in some of my old SAM Magazines, it appears that Murray-Latta and Willamete are possibly the same lift company. I believe that Willamete changed its name to Murray-Latta the fallowing year after building the aerial tram at Jackson Hole. However, I'm not 100% sure on this but I have a pretty good feeling about it and it makes sense.

What's your good feeling based upon? M-L is from Vancouver, BC while Willamette sounds like it's from Oregon somewhere. Plus M-L built lifts at least as early as 1964 while Willamette built JH's tram in 1966.

The dinosaur lift at Hyak is listed 2 seperate years on the sam surveys, one with wilamette and one with M-Latta.

Yea, I saw that same thing in SAM and that's why I thought that either the companies merged or were the same, maybe just had different divisions? I also think I remember seeing the head engineer for Wilamette as being the head engineer for M-Latta.

Jackson Hole has but one M-L, the Eagle's Rest double, built in '65! It's still running!
Was recently upgraded to hydraulic tensioning...woo-woo!

Our Aerial Tram has some parts made in the M-L machine shop, I do believe.

I liked M-L's tensioning setup; it was very easy to raise/lower the counterweight.
