Crystal Mtn has stated on their Facebook page in response to why Chair 1 is not running on the busiest day of the year, where every single parking lot is at capacity;

There's still room in F lot, so we should be able to fit people who are already on the road.
Chris- Chair 1 is dead. It's coming out this summer.

R.I.P chair 1. Even if we weren't going to operate it, we still ran it first thing for employees. Classic. But it was built in '62, and has passed its prime considerably. Its location isn't the best, either; I recall several of those 'busiest days of the year' where Midway had a monster line and the ops at 1 were bored with no visitors.

Is chair 1 Miner's Basin? If so it was deroped off the bullwheel by snowboarders in the 1990's (?) from pushing the chair while unloading. Which wasn't included in the list of chair accidents in another recent post.
