being nieve on the whole tower relocating process, how often do they have to do this? The terminals must be anchored to rock? I wonder if the weight of the cable, tower, and operating vibration help sink the tower in its process of moving? Makes my job and area look pretty basic.

The towers are relocated every fall. The terminals are set on rock and there is a 7/8 guy line clamped to the tower heads. The clamps are loosened and the towers slipped as necessary during the winter. Nothing sinks the towers. The bases are on ice and move very little. The amount of movement and relocation depends on the movement of the glacier ant the amont of snow melt in the summer. There is a detach 6 pack with bubbles on a glacier in Europe. The lift is at a 60 degree angle to tthe direction of the flow of the glacier and the towers need relocating every three weeks.

Do you know the name and location of this lift?

Agree with Allan....sooooooo happy our lifts are bolted down. Props to that crew (and any others) who have to do such a project.
Chairlift n. A transportation system found at most ski areas in which a series of chairs suspended from a cable rapidly conveys anywhere from one to eight skiers from the front of one line to the back of another.

I helped to build the Horstman T-bar in '87/'88 ( along with the Wizard, Solar Coaster and the 7th Heaven Detachs) - the glacier was clear of snow in a lot of places- blue/green ice- many stories about that one, we even lost a tower down the glacier while we were flying them in. definitely want to work on that machine with snow on the glacier. I often thought about having to keep that thing aligned- good job guys!
