I am not sure if anyone knows or not, but Okemopoma was involved in a motorcycle accident this summer. John Skalecki was going for a quick ride a couple of miles from his home. A Jeep was traveling in the opposite lane (2 lane blacktop) when the left front tire came off and struck John on the left leg. He was knocked off the bike and his leg was in bad shape. It was stated that if this had happened 20 years ago, his leg would have been amputated. John was awake for the whole ordeal and even applied a tourniquet to his own leg to control some blood loss. He was rushed to Springfield hospital in Vermont and then airlifted to Dartmouth in New Hampshire.

This has been a life altering event and he is on the road to recovery. The guys at Okemo have been great, they even built a wheel chair ramp to his back door. I haven't talked with John in a bit and I need to check on him to see how he fared during the flooding caused by tropical storm Irene. I will update his progress.

Best of luck to John on his long road to recovery. He won't be climbing any towers soon, but hopefully a Motor Room inspection or two in the coming season.

Well, "best wishes" of course.
Hang in there, John - it's only a machine that you live in. The real stuff is up top.

There are three roads to ruin; women, gambling and technicians. The most pleasant is with women, the quickest is with gambling, but the surest is with technicians. Georges Pompidou

Well, I have a praise report for everyone, John was officially back to work last Sunday!!! He is in excellent spirits and in my opinion way ahead of his time frame for recovery. Glad to see you back and please don't over do it.

Glad to hear he is back in Business. A angel was watching over him that day!
