I discovered a very cool (and new?) tool in Google Earth today. It's called Elevation Profile and it is an interactive elevation tool for lines drawn on maps. First, you create a path, then right click on the path and select "Show Elevation Profile." A box appears in the bottom of the window with an elevation profile. You can move your pointer along the line and it gives stats like elevation above sea level, elevation from the start of the path, horizontal length from the start of the path, and percent grade. My example below is a hypothetical lift up Silver King at Crystal Mountain, Washington.
