I'm looking to give our old 1956 Doppelmayr T-Bar a cool name.

For any who may be unfamiliar,..... I've installed a 23hp Briggs-and-Stratton engine on this antique lift and brought it back to life. It has been sitting idle for 27 years. (Mount Mancelona closed to the public in 1984, I'm friends with the current owner..... we're just using it as a private resort).

I'm thinking along the lines of "Zombie", for a name.........

(Ice Zombie,..... Vertical Zombie,... Board Zombie...)...

..... Does anyone out there think they can come up with a oober-cool moniker to attach to this old monstrosity?

I'm thinking of the VW beetle Woody Allen found in the movie Sleeper... after 200 years it started right up!

A good one hit me like a ton of bricks today at work.

"The Zombie Tram".

I think I've come up with a cool logo, as well..... I'm gonna have to make a bunch of T-Shirts for my kid and his school buddies as well as My Buddy (the property owner)'s daughter and her college buddies..... or for ANYONE who might ride this lift.

..... But I'm still open to suggestions,..... anyone else care to take a stab at naming my Rusty Frankenweenie Project?

I was pondering "Rusty", as well.....

In fact, I was thinking of giving "Him" a PERSONAL name as well as a TITLE.

"Rusty T. Doppelmayr",........ The Zombie Tram.

(Gots a nice ring to it). :shifty:

I probably won't paint any big names or logo on the side of the lift-shack until next Summer..... so we have all winter long to come up with a cool name for this creature. Plus, there aren't alot of people in here, on the forum... at this time of the year. (It might be a while before this place livens up, it's only September..... we have a few months before it starts snowing).

I do like "Russ T. Doppelmayr". Don't love "Zombie Tram". The Zombie part I like. Just needs the perfect 2nd word to go with it. Zombie Dragger, meh. Zombie Eater, bah. Zombie Machine, eh. Zoomin' Zombie, little better. Hungry Zombie, nah. Coyote Zombie, hmmm.

If you've got type II springboxes, you might want to call her "Whiplash" until you get the hang of adjusting the box brakes !

Zombie High (in case it's not a low-riding lift)
BoneChiller (in case it doesn't have bubbles)
Thriller (do your team members look like extras from the MJ video?)

For the most intellectual of riders, spread fake bodyparts around the bullwheel areas and name the lift "The Meat Grinder". Those, and only those ;-) who had read "Roadside Picnic" by Strugatsky Bros. will know what you mean - the others will ride cluelessly.

Anyone want to tell me exactly WHY this post got moved from "General Discussions" to "Off-Topic"?

This post is quite specifically OF AND ABOUT a ski-lift. And "General Discussion" seems quite appropriate for such a thread.

..... You Mods just trying to confuse me?

I'm at a rather high elevation of Michigan, the air is kinda thin up here..... I don't handle confusion all together well.

Maybe the name of the lift should be "General Discussion".

Naah,..... I'm not mad. Stuff like this lets me get out a few punchlines. My humor can be pretty subtle sometimes..... Hell, I just got banned from a "Firearms' message board after some humorous creative writing I did. (I guess they didn't see the humor in my text, despite the "Smileys" I added for effect). :angelic:

Some guy told a joke about a Coyote biting a politician. I replied back..."That's not funny, you Bastard......... why couldn't it have been a POODLE!!!???"

..... They banned me for that. (My name is "Coyote" ).

Some people have no sense-of-humor. :ninja:

But i DID feel it was unwarranted to move this thread to "Off Topic" :uhh:

(Someone must've agreed with me).

Since it's a Doppelmayr that's been raised form the dead, how about...
