A potentially (slightly) old video, of testing, design and engineering at Doppelmayr. Lots of prototype and testing in the video, of detachable conveyors and more.

04:35 is my favorite part, where you see the sparks flying on the cable catchers.

Judging by the fluorescent suits... it's from the early-mid nineties? They had this video playing when I was at D/CTEC in Salt Lake City a few years back! I only remember because of the rope catcher part :)

The Blackcomb gondola is in there so the video was put together after 1994. There is another Doppelmayr video out there that has derpoement testing and sheave failures. Lots of sparks in that one.

Maybe the same one Ive seen... It was a late 80's early- 90's video, they did the testing on a short, one tower detachable that looked to be at one of their factories. It was not in English. They did several tests, the one that sticks out in my memory was one where they ran at full speed with a sheave without the 'snap ring'. It finally derailed.
