Kolmården, a zoo in Sweden, has a new Doppelmayr gondola that has 6 turns! This is in addition to an older gondola with 4 angle stations: http://www.alpinforu...t=36325&start=0

That's crazy. It looks like it will run slow enough to be able to go around a turn without detaching. What's the extra Uni-G terminal doing without being attached to the haul rope at all?

A rope evac in there would not be fun.

The two exposed bull wheels turn the rope into the terminal where the lifts drive and tensioning equipment is located.

Wow, that would definitely not be a fun evac. Still a very interesting piece of engineering. I wonder how fast it goes through sheave liners on those corners? :wacko2:
