In our jurisdiction, I speculate that the Tramway Board would approve an application to modify the lift without de-grandfathering, provided that the project met the requirements for modification (qualified engineer's approval with stamped drawing list, tower loads, etc.); a load test at 110% load would be required also.
To answer the question of whether the Von Roll 101's have been 'red tagged', I believe that there may be several design features with these old lifts that do not meet the current B. 77 standard. If they were re-located, they would be considered 'new' installations, and therefore would be required to meet the current design standards. I am not familiar with the process in Florida... perhaps they regulate this through their amusement process.

Vonroll VR101s are of the box grip design.A closed in grip. This is 1945 technology and is the birthplace of detachable lifts(Gondola/Chairlifts)In case of A derail on a tower, the grip cant pass by the derail roller bank.
