No worries, Cameron, I intend to document it up to and including its dismantling.

missouskier-- K gondola is dead, at least as a replacement for K and L. Quite possibly next year K will go away in favour of some sort of detachable lift. A is off the table as well, it's underused as is and with a few dollars thrown at it should last many more years. After that, I haven't heard. Rumours abound but nothing confirmed. Powdr has reiterated their stance that they are a ski company, not a real-estate firm. That was the only reason for upgrading A; Intrawest wanted to develop the land at the base.

Erik-- H is 11' line gauge, can't be made into a triple. As for HEX, I'm hereby stealing it. I'll give you credit, of course, but it's so perfect it has to be used. We've already got TEX, so it makes sense  Nice work.

Have they ever considered upgrading R to high-speed and extending it so the bottom is accessible from the top of F? IT seems as if that would take some of the traffic away from O1 on busy days. Good to hear A is not slated for upgrade any time soon. It is kind of a long chair but Far East and Too Much are very nice bump runs which make it worthwhile.

i know the attached master plan is old and thus from the intrawest days, however, the other lift upgrades mentioned on it are a realigned 'S' and the Tucker mtn lift, don't suppose there has been any talk about those under powdr management? Also found it interesting that 'H' is not mentioned on this plan, and definitely surprised me when the plans were reviled.

Many of the items on the Intrawest map are still on Powdr's radar as well. They've backed off on the realigned S-lift, but Tucker is still on last I heard. There is no timeline for anything other than what I mentioned in my previous post. H is a decision undertaken both in the past and recently; the Union Creek area is sorely in need of upgrading and that lift currently frustrates both beginners (who can't load at full speed) and experts (who would like another way up the hill besides the 15-minute ride on H or the 30-minute wait to board the Flyer). The summer I started at Copper I was on the crew that had H. We were told that 'the lift's going away, only do what's necessary'. That was almost ten years ago.

Boardski-- I've wondered about realigning R myself, but I've not heard anything about that. If it started down by the phone 20 area (where Coppertone crosses the road from the top of F) one could ski all of Wheeler Creek plus get there from the big side without going all the way down to the bottom.

Really, the gondola for K never made any sense to me, I guess except that it would have served the higher-altitude beginner area that was to be constructed. Any word on whether that will ever happen? It makes much more sense to just replace K with a detachable, and leave L the way it is.

I'm glad Powdr is interested in upgrading the lifts and other ski-related on mountain things. It seemed to me that nothing was done to improve the mountain during the Intrawest time period-only the village.

And, it would really help to extend the S lift to the top, giving easier access into the bowls. But mabye the wind would affect the lift more then.

Really, the H lift detachable that is going in this summer is probably the most needed lift replacement at Copper, though.

S would experience more wind if it went to the top, I think.

K gondi as it was originally planned isn't happening, as I mentioned. The liftline that was already cut will eventually become another run.

H isn't necessarily the most-needed upgrade in our fleet (but that's my opinion, and this isn't the place to complain about our other lifts). It will definitely improve skier traffic flow, though.

For what it's worth, the lift is almost finished and we load-test in two weeks. Plenty of time before we need to open the lift to public.

With the High Point lift being replaced, if someone is able to take a few photos of the lift prior to its removal, that would be appreciated.

Ask and you shall receive. :) These are some of High Point that I took in August 2009 on a day when my dad and I went up American Eagle, hiked all the way to the top of Excelerator, then hiked all the way back down via the cat roads that switchback under the lower part of the American Flyer lift.
