From NBC Connecticut:

Quote

To rescue skiers, members tossed a rope over the ski lift wires and each person had to hop into a chair before being lowered to the ground."In all honesty, the ski patrol did a great job getting us off," Bob Kaczmarczyk, of Bloomfield, said. "It was a little time consuming, but it was safe."

The rescues took about 30 minutes.

" It was just a leap of faith going over as you getting off the chair. That was the hard part," Kaczmarczyk, said.

Mount Southington officials said there was a mechanical problem with the main and backup systems that power the lift.

Most of these articles do an excellent job of commending the ski patrol for a job well done, while they rarely mention the numerous others involved, such as the lift mechanics frantically trying to get the lift going again. Funny how that is, though I can't complain because it gives me and my guys some good publicity. Glad to hear everyone is safe.

I think most of us lift maint. types would love no mention of themselves or their area in the media with that, if doing our jobs last summer would keep the unexpected lift evac and the media wolves at bay.
"Maybe there is no Heaven. Or maybe this is all pure gibberish—a product of the demented imagination of a lazy drunken hillbilly with a heart full of hate who has found a way to live out where the real winds blow—to sleep late, have fun, get wild, drink whisky, and drive fast on empty streets with nothing in mind except falling in love and not getting arrested . . . Res ipsa loquitur (it speaks for it self). Let the good times roll." HT

I can understand your modesty.
