You might want to check out these lift installation sheets:

http://skilifts.org/install_na.htm
http://www.coloradoskihistory.com/chairlif...s/locations.htm
http://saminfo.com/lift.htm

I also noticed that you list the Outpost Gondola at Keystone as an 8 person gondola when its actually a 6 person and built by Doppelmayr, not Leitner Poma. Also there was the Eskimo double chair at WP that was built by Riblet. ;)

BTW, are you going to add more lift statistics when you get the information or is it going to stay the way it is now? I also saved the file as an excel file since it was saved as a PDF.

To your question of whether or not I am going to add more info as I get in and the answer is YES! Right now all I have time for is Colorado lifts. If eveyone would concentrate on colorado lift I would be much apreciated although later on I will expand to cover other states

What type of stuff are you looking for though? It looks like just basic stuff on the lift manufacturer, type and year installed. I only have the lift info from 88 and up, but not the names of the lifts.

Thank you to coski for all the help. I hope to find the information of older lifts and eventually expand to cover other states. I am hoping to expand the data base to cover vermont lifts. Info on anything and suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Crazyskier91

Hey Brad, I'm not sure if you know this or not, but you actually cannot copyright something that contains facts (dates, names, facts such as lift length & vertical rise, etc) because that information can be used by anyone. So Crazyskier could use all the information on that you page you put together, but he couldn't use the actual page, which he's not, because he's putting it into excel format. I hope that makes sense, I learned that in my writing class.

My information has been taken form other sources and from my reading of posts in this forum and compiling them. I have checked my information against your data base. Most of my info came from me personally skiing the areas and also input from other people in this forum.

You can copyright the layout and design, but the information are facts and cannot be copyrighted. If it was written as a story or project where essays are used, then yes that can be copyrighted.

Example, the lift specs on my site cannot be copyrighted, but the way I present the layout and design is.

well i cross-checked your lift dates verses mine and 99% match up on ones i have verses ones i don't, that strikes me as similar.

ok maybe what i am saying is that it is bad form to copy something...i mean it is obvious...or site the source if you used info from different someone else.

when you write a report you have to cite sources. do you know how much research went into that sheet? A lot, research from my skiing and going through museum files to get dates.

i agree with you 100% cameron, but i also know that if there is a mistake in my database and if you copy it, that could be considered plagerism.

Also before a war starts over this I came up with the layout and design myself. Therefore the part that can be copyrighted is not an issue.

Here's a thought- Brad's database is posted for public viewing on his site. Grant- what is yours for? If it is for purely personal viewing and information I don't see an issue (although if the idea and some of the info came from Brad, Grant owes him beer in my book).

My Database is for anyone to use. I have no objections to anyone adding to it, taking information from it or anything else.

Hey Brad, you can check this sites lift construction survey for some information. I noticed that you were missing a few dates of chairlifts, so I thought you might like to know.

Brad, you don't have a lot of the older chairlifts. You can download my data base to help expand yours to cover more removed lifts. After all you are coloradoskiHISTORY.com. Attached is the most recent copy.
