I was skiing today at Copper Mountain(11-24-10) and noticed that the timberline express(t-rex) was not open although all the runs are open. I was wondering why the lift was not in operation when the terrain was ready?

The lift and trails were scheduled to open on Thanksgiving Day. Due to cold temps and early snow we were able to open the runs early; the lift on the other hand was still in the process of getting licensed. Timberline exp is open today.

To expand-- lifts and terrain are not hand-in-hand. We have certain things we have to do to get the lift ready for the season; if it snows before we're ready there's nothing we can do. This year we completely replaced the drive and control system and between that and other maintenance items we could not open early. The lift was always scheduled for Thanksgiving and we made that date. By the way, hope you stayed warm Wednesday, I saw 0 F on the thermometer at the top of the Flyer for most of the day. The coffee pot was running all day :)

I figured, I was just feeling kind of snarky writing that post :)
