Would all of this be the same on a next-Gen HSS? On rollback, would the grips detach like in normal opns?

If in doubt, don't fall and roll unless you're in a Von Roll.

Not sure what you mean by 'next-gen HSS', but yes. Detachable grips are not one-way-only pieces of equipment. The conveyor banks operate either off the rope or the bullwheel, so they'd still carry the chairs through the terminal regardless of which direction the lift was turning.

I mean High Speed Six-Pack.

Would the chairs even detach on High speed rollback, or just fly through on the drive line?

That's what I said. BTW, the 'drive line' is what connects the motor to the gearbox. You're probably referring to the haul rope.

Sorry if I sounded snarky. Think of it this way: If the lift is set up to run chairs forward at a high speed, say the typical operating speed of 1000FPM, there would have to be something seriously wrong with the terminal setup for the grips to NOT detach when rolling back at roughly the same speed.
