'tis real. That whole project is in an environmentally sensitive area, and this was done to minimise impact. All the construction was done either by tracked vehicles or helicopters. No roads were built. I imagine it'll make summer maintenance interesting.

I have a quick question about White Pass. I believe that there was an actual topic specifically about the expansion, so I'm sorry for posting my question here rather than there, but if I remember correctly, that topic is pretty far back in the lists.

Anyway, here's my question: which lift is which? I know that there's a new fixed quad (Basin) and a new detachable quad (Goat Rocks Express), but which is which on the map?

Here's the draft of the map from their website:

Very impressive over the snow installation.

Thanks for helping me out. The pictures are great. By the way, I thought that they discontinued that version of the Orion. Maybe that was only for the Sprint terminal. Or maybe Doppelmayr CTEC offers both versions.

Never mind, I looked through the Doppelmayr 2009 Worldbook and the only lift that they showed the bottom and top stations of was the Lookout Mountain Triple at Whiteface, which used a UNI-Star drive/tension terminal and the same version of the Orion terminal.

Talk about building over snow!

Do you think a person could fit under there.

It was taken from A-basin's webcam and used by Leitner-Poma... ;) Just felt I should say Leitner-Poma because I got it off their site.

Went for a nice hike yesterday at Vail. Great day with plenty of Photos. Looks like chair 5 is coming along rather nicely. I do feel that they're a tad behind schedule, but I'm sure once they get the towers in and the terminals installed, it will all go quickly.
