Back to the Shawnee lift swap:

From what I heard...Shawnee did not like the width of the Riblet triple chair...apparently the CTEC triple chair is wider.

Not a picture or anything special but White Pass is installing...

New RFID ticketing system using Axess Gate System will be installed this summer at WP.

Peter Pitcher, were you able to purchase the Exhibition lift for your ski area?

You mentioned a while back that you were going to try.

I believe they purchased Sun Valley's Exhibition chair. I think they installed it but didn't open it yet, not sure why. See photos on facebook...

Looks like White Pass has both lifts spliced and chairs assembled in the background.

I have been watching progress on the webcam also since it gives a fairly good veiw of bottom terminal and looking up the line. Looks like bottom terminal and two towers are all that remain. Amazing to think the lift was running and loading public 4 days ago. I suppose A Basin has a more narrow time schedule with this lift replacement since the new one is due to open in October (Exhibition has always been the first lift to open and last to close). Are lifts normally removed this quickly??

Sorry to disapoint, Norway is NOT being dismantled. I was sort of hoping A Basin would surprise us by constructing the Black Mtn Express chair to run the Norway line also and have a mid-point at the top of former Exhibition. Maybe they can add this section at some future time. No definitive plan for this though just on the "wish list" of some frequent visitors.

Darn sun glare!
In looking a little closer since weather patterns have changed, the towers are actually still there. Looks like some progress on dismantling bottom terminal though.

I tried to contact Arapahoe but they did not respond. I have heard that they want to auction off the chairs and keep the lift for parts. I would like to get it if it is for sale

I counted 6 'superlifts' at Sunshine. Do they count each stage of the gondola as separate?

We'll be able to watch the new Golden Eagle high speed quad at The Canyons going up from this webcam here. You can see the top terminal location and the upper part of the line. It updates every few seconds. The camera is facing to the north, and the white towers up on the ridge are from the Super Condor lift. Today, you can see some construction trucks parked up there, with the upper towers from the old double lying on the ground

Also, an article says that The Canyons has now torn down Smokie's Smokehouse, which is about where the relocated base terminal of the gondola will go

The Canyons started digging at the top terminal of Golden Eagle (the midstation of the new high speed quad). All of the towers that were lying around up there seem to have been removed. Still being secretive on their facebook page.

They said they're not announcing their plans until late august...seems very strange to me.
