Bill, also keep tabs on my website as myself as well as some of the condo owners will be posting progress photo's there. Yes, it will be a busy summer this year for WA ski areas. I'm really looking forward to checking out the finished White Pass area as well as my backyard, Hyak.

With the removal of Easy Gold and Keechelus (2 double riblets) I don't see why they would need anything more for the backside lift. Also, Dan Brewster (area manager) said the backside double chair was going to be built from what remained from the Keechelus and the removal of Easy Gold.

The odd thing I saw was that the bottom of the Dinosaur is still sitting there. Every time I go up there I keep expecting to see it gone, but every time it's still sitting there.
At any rate not much going on yet, it'll be interesting to see when things start really happening, probably still too early for any of this stuff to start.
I suppose we're just so spoiled with all the action at White's Pass that I'm getting impatient for the rest of the construction season to start...

There actually is a lot going on, but mostly on the backside of the mtn getting ready for the double chair install. Removal of the trees, burning them in piles and they have started digging holes getting ready for the forms you saw. They also have started clearing the new trails in Hidden Valley.

Any word on the operating schedule for next year? Would be nice if it was open 7 days a week.

I hope they open it more- say Thursday through Sunday, with night skiing. I don't see 7 days/nights any time soon- if ever. West is open much less than that, and even Alpental is still closed on Mondays. Friday-Sunday days only would be my best optimistic guess. It is all about revenue and visits. I hope they can create a draw for the area once again. Bring back Saturday nights until 2:00 AM and watch the party start!

Definitely. I recall a few nights where we left at midnight, dog-tired, and it was still going on. I think my family spent more nights at Hyak than Crystal, even though Crystal was hands-down the closest place.

Why would anyone bury conduit for night lighting? Direct-bury ACWU instead.
