That's really weird about that new lift going in at Alta. It's a Stealth 3 terminal design and not one of the UNI designs. I would have thought that Doppelmayr CTEC would have stopped making this terminal design and plus they had to make a totally different type of terminal for that bend. I was thinking this would have been a UNI-G terminal design. So I wonder what high-speed terminals Doppelmayr CTEC is making now then? I hope it didn't stop making the UNI-G design because that seems to be the most popular design out right now, but who knows.

Thats interesting that they have informed the media that the lifts at DV are going to be DoppelmayrCTEc lifts, but not their own customer service people. I asked, and she sounded unsure about who was building them

Maybe they scrapped the UNI-GS for the Stealth. I doubt the will discontinue the UNI-G becasue it is very attractive and its probably pretty simple.
Also one other little note about the Garaventa MCS (Modular Compact Station); they said it is constructed to European CEN norms, so therefore they can be used worldwide.

Has anyone here ridden the UNI-GS yet, or at least seen a good picture? The only picture of one I've seen was a scan of an ad for DoppelmayrCTEC out of SAM that I think Cameron posted, and it was only in the background
I wouldn't mind a UNI-GS for the new lift at DV, but I would prefer a Stealth just for continuity (3 other Stealths unloading in the same spot, 8 total in resort now)

You want to talk to my counterparts- James, perhaps- and not customer service people because they don't always know what's happening (and most wouldn't know a chairlift manufacturer if it bit them in the @$$). Call the main switchboard and ask to talk to the lift maintenance department, and they can probably help you out.

Maybe, just maybe Doppelmayr CTEC produced a Stealth 3 terminal for both Deer Valley and Alta on special request. But how do you make a midstation out of a stealth 3? This I got to see. :)
They still have it on their website, so maybe they haven't quite cancelled it yet.
I want to see that Stealth 3 midstation too B) HSQ midstations are cool

Good, they finally got that map to work. I dont like the new website much though
A few pointless observations, don't bother wasting your time reading them:
-That seems like a really big area to be working, or is it just that they don't want anybody to get too close to the construction? Too bad, I'm still going up there if we make it this summer
-It's interesting how they have the bottom of Northside at 8000 feet on that map, and they say that the top of Flagstaff Mtn is 9100 feet, but they still list Northside as having a 900 foot vertical
-It seems like the new lift is there as sort of a reliever to get the crowds off Northside. I thought it was on the other side of the ridge there the way it was first described

Florida,
I was up there yesterday on my Mt Bike. The reason the roped off area is so big is: 1) They have yet to cut the runs, and 2) The Empire Pass real estate development is in that area as well. They have all the heavy equipment staged, but no actual work has been done yet (no tree cuts or grading). No signs of the lift parts around yet either. As for the purpose of the lift, I think it is for the owners of the new houses, so that they can have 'ski-in/out' properties. DV is really big on lining their runs with houses. I find it kind of disturbing while skiing there. The terrain served there is actually pretty good. It has decent fall line decents in the intermediate category, with some interesting rolls and pitches (more DV bread & butter). I can keep you posted on progress this summer if you want.

Here is the plan for the Town lift replacement(s). Its called Treasure Hill (more houses around ski lifts!). At least this one is being planned with Park City's historic past in mind. The planning commission meets Wednesday to review the project. Not much the commission can do however, as they have vested rights and an approved plat. In short, the development calls for:
1) a Cabriolet running from the existing Town lift base/plaza to the existing mid station, just above the last houses in town. Good choice for a transport lift, summer and winter.
2) A HSQ, slightly re-aligned, going from the mid station to just below the top of the Payday lift. This, in my opinion is the best aspect of this upgrade, since return trips to the town lift ski runs are currently difficult, invovling a long traverse and an even longer lift ride out - very underutilized. The re-alignment allows for much more up/down fall line skiing (& shorter lift returns).
3) A Funicular servicing the development area. Seems like a novelty more than a usefull transport system.
Don't know the details on the timing, but seems like it already is getting late this summer to get permits, lift contracts, etc. I will know more after this Wednesday's planning commission meeting.
