Not surprisingly the initial reports were inaccurate. From Kirkwood's Facebook page:
"Yes, We had a communications line hit by a tree, Not a big deal, our Mtn Ops team is working on this as I type. Chair 11 today no. We are at best guess set for the am opening 11 tomorrow."

dang--kirkwood has been hit with some bad luck this year. First the power plant burns down, chair 10's motor poops out and they have to replace it (or something like that, I'm not sure. They had to do something major to it, to the point where it was closed for several days), and now this? yikes.
