Hi there. I'm investigating an application that is similar to a ski-lift, but for hauling bulk material up a slope. I'm looking at different options and I'm trying to learn as much as I can about ski lifts because I think it's the closest analogy. Can someone tell me more about the haul ropes used? I'd like to know what thickness is typical (or, how does that relate to the loading on the lift)? Are the ropes galvanized, or is there something special for withstanding the elements? Does anyone have a ballpark price on $/ft? I'm trying to get a greater understanding of the technology and its costs, so any suggestions or input would be very appreciated.

Regards,

Aaron

Thanks very much! That gives me some idea. If anyone else has any suggestions to better understand component pricing, I'd love to hear them!

I don't know if it's what you're looking for, but I found this and thought it might be helpful, (sure hope it is) it's a price sheet for ski lift parts from the former Partek company.
