SEATTLE - The recent foul weather may be a bother to some of us here in the Northwest, but not skiers and snowboarders. All the rain in the lowlands means snow in the Cascades, and that means skiing is almost here.
Because of the recent snowfall, Crystal Mountain's Green Valley ski area will open Thursday. Parts of Mount Baker also open Thursday.
Oregon's Mount Bachelor might be able to open Friday.
Resort officials at Snoqualmie Pass say they're still hoping for an early opening this year, but they still need more snow.
