I was looking at a picture of the Snowmass Sky Cab and noticed that the lift utilized detachable Omega grips. The lift is a pulsed gondola, so it shouldn't need a detachable grip.
Is there a reason for this grip choice?

This was discussed before, I believe it had something to do with the timing and supply. The pulse fixed grips would have required more time to custom make but there was an ample supply of Omegas that would do the job.

Oh okay, thank you. Do you know if they have ever taken advantage of this and removed the cabins from the line?

Yes.... These grips are easier for Snowmass Lift mechs to mirgrate the grips every x # of days. They say it's easier and quicker then the regular fix grip grip.
