Hello everybody!
I am last year student bachelor in Mechanical Engineering and I have to make my thesis. I am interest in mechanical machinery and elements. I admire the lifts systems and I want to connect my thesis with ski lift mechanism, but I have never done something of this area. My question is : Can you offer me any mechanisms that I can work on it for my thesis? Because I don't have a knowedge of them.

My specialization is Handling Engineering and Logistics and we studied subject Elevators and Lifts, but we didn't say much for the lifts only kinematics design - nothing about the mechanisms.
Thank you ! I accept all of your ideas.
Nikolay

Thanks for joining the forum, here are some suggestions for getting you started
For a glossary of terms please click this link:

It would be helpful for you to read all of the forums as these will give you more information…
The first ropeways (good place to start) had nothing to do with skiing -
This ropeway supports bauxite mining: http://www.miningwee...rain-2008-05-30
This one is dedicated to transporting doctors, patients and other medical staff: http://www.portlandtram.org/
This manufacturer is from Italy: http://www.leitnergroup.com/
This one is quite high: http://ww1.whistlerb...com/p2pg/media/
This one is quite sad: http://www.wiscnews....bnr/news/470966

Thank you very much about the information you gave me! I looked at the glossary and I chose the Grip/Detachable mechanisms. I talked with my teacher and he said me that in our laboratory we will have this mechanism to make experiment with it. It is great because my thesis will be real experiment.
Now my second question is : Are there any charts on this mechanism that i can look to acquaint myself ?

Thank you again!

Might be able to scan a blueprint of a Poma TB-41 (1980s-1990s vintage) provided there are no copyright or patent infringements.

Nikos
I would try a patent search (these go back to 1700s in U.S.) - grip, clamp, clip, cable clamp etc.
The colored ones YAN might have used for ideas…or just copied outright…or asked for permission to use…
