We manage a park in Guatemala with sight-seeing tours in the rainforest. He's looking to install a simple lift to carry people 1300 meters across a ridge. It doesn't need to carry a lot of people or go very fast. From what I gather, the big parts (towers, motor, generator, seats) can be bought/fabricated by local companies, but I am looking for drive components, preferably used, as we'd like to save money. How simple can this be? Is it advisable to acquire used components?
The humidity out there is close to 100% all the time, and this concerns me a bit. He says that a stainless-steel cable will be necessary. I've never heard of this, but I'm no expert on lifts.
I'm a total newbee to this industry and would appreciate any advice or direction you could give.
Thank you
Robert
