yes, there was a ski area in Fairview, UT. According to the White Book, the ski area was open during the 70's but closed by '84. Possibly earlier, but I don't have data. The ski area had 1 rope tow, no bars or lifts. Its vertical drop was 210 feet. It was located 8 miles from Fairview off of Highway 31. I didn't see it on Google Earth. Services included a warming hut, first aid, and food service. It only operated weekends/holidays.

I used to do a lot of skiing in Fairview canyon. I think this place is up that way, off the right hand side of the road. They used to build a huge halfpipe, and I think it was owned by some kind of snowboard/ski camp? Anyway, there's a wide open area with a cabin at the bottom of the hill, used to be a snowcat parked there as well. It's been seven or eight years since I've been up there so it could be gone now?

I looked for it in the summer of 2001 and could not find anything. It was on road maps until about 1989.

I'm sure the rope tow was long gone. The place I'm thinking of is the Wasatch Academy's private park/pipe for their ski and snowboard team? They're based out of Mt. Pleasant. Head up there this winter, maybe it's still there? If not, it's not a bad drive scenery wise.
