The newer ones are better, they don't seem like they're going to tip you right off the chair like the older ones
Question About Poma Chairs

Maybe I'm biased because I'm a Poma mechanic, but I don't understand the feeling that one is about to fall off the Falcon- or Competition-style carriers. I've ridden on them for years, and I find them quite comfortable and secure.

I think the difference comes in the way the Back rest is angled/designed. The flat poma design makes sitting comfortably a harder task. for taller people a more forward position is requiered to acheive this angle. Also the Mounting of poma footrests seems to lead to a more forward chair position.

That could be. I don't use the footrests unless I'm riding with people who want them down, so I haven't noticed that aspect. I do like the one Doppelmayr we've got; it's the only one I've ever ridden on a regular basis but it seems plenty comfortable.
