Hi there.

Yesterday, I was riding the alpine slide at Breckenridge and I was specifically looking at the line turn on Lift 5 near the top. However, I'm curious about two things...

A. Why is this necessary? It doesn't seem to me like it makes any sense.

B. Does the small change in direction cause any extra friction on the sheaves that could cause additional wear over time?

Thanks for any replies... I've always wondered the rationale behind such a strange anomaly of that lift.

Oh, I see! I had no idea Chair 5's bottom terminal was ever moved. Thanks!

So, if I understand correctly, the sheaves are angled in a way that prevents unnecessary friction?

I many cases the owners knew where they wanted to load and unload and it so happened that they’re was something in the way to get there in a straight line, lift, building, mountain, ect. You than have three choices, go over, under or around what ever is in the way. http://www.skiliftfo...?showtopic=5634

Being that the construction of One Ski Hill Place is still underway, I was almost mistaken that there would be a town fun park, but, I am mistaken.

So, like, is the park on Peak 8 Base open, although only accessible via BreckConnect Gondola?

No.... they're angled in such a way that the lift turns slightly.

So, like, yes and no. You drive up and park there, like. The gondi isn't running this summer; at least it hasn't been when we've driven through town.

They don't normally run it in the summer. I'm sure as the new building open up it will start to run in the summer. But that's at least another year off.
