Squaw claims the 1st pond skim event but it seems like pond skimming has been around longer than 19 years. Can anyone confirm or refute this timeline?

Through the fog I seem to remember doing this at Mt Baker in the mid 70's at the bottom of the austin rope tow. Damn that thing was fast !

I've heard some stories of that contest from some of those who were there. Guess it was a hoot. There's a natural pond that forms right above where the old rope tow began, and you get a great run at it from Austin.
