I think the Whistler Peak-2-Peak will soon become one. Chair 1 at MRG definitely.

I would agree on the Single at Mad River, also the first Quad Detach in the world Q.s. at Breck now replaced.

Are we talking about lifts that are known by skiers and riders from around the nation or just that great chair at the local ski area? BTW I've never heard of Mt. Holly.

Jackson's tram
The original single at Aspen
The original KT-22
The Skimobile? at Cranmore

My feeling is that there aren't many 'iconic' lifts around. By that I mean lifts that people from around the country would recognise even if they'd never ridden them. I could be wrong, but that's my take.

What about Riblet's detachable double at Mt. Spokane. I believe it was the first detachable chairlift in the world.

The old Killington gondola. Didn't really serve the greatest skiing there but it was some ride. Would often use it as a lunch break back in the day.

I have to agree with skier691's nomination of the hemlock lift at Boyne mountain. That lift still runs using the terminals of one of the first singles built at sun valley. Definitely a cool lift to check out.

How about Segundo lift at Sunlight,CO and lift #4 at Loveland, CO? (1954-1972 as lift #3 at Aspen Mountain and 1973-current as Segundo lift at Sunlight and 1965- current at Loveland, respectively) both old-school lifts still in operation. As far as lifts no longer in operation, the original Loge Peak double chair at Aspen Highlands (1958-1993) is worth mentioning, it took a couple of summers to remove the breakover towers which guided the chairs over the Boulders with cliffs on both sides toward the top.

Maybe the Slide Brook Express at Sugarbush? I know it's not old or anything, but it sure is an awesome ride.

EDIT: After contemplating it for a minute I would have to take it back, as it still is a relatively new lift (1995 Dopp Detach). The Skimobile at Cranmore definitely takes my vote as one as does the single chair at MRG.
Chairlift n. A transportation system found at most ski areas in which a series of chairs suspended from a cable rapidly conveys anywhere from one to eight skiers from the front of one line to the back of another.

The Tram at Aspen Hole is in my opinion one of the most iconic "ski lifts" in North America
