:helpsmilie: Hey all. I was digging through some old things, when I came across these pictures. I have some more from the same day, but these two were the best. I don't know what ski area they are at! All I know is that it was in Colorado. Could anyone offer some advice? These are fairly old pics. My first guess would be Buttermilk, although I doubt I could confirm that. Can anyone help me identify these photos? Thanks!

Looks like it could be Burlingame lift or the old Village lift (FGD pre-Fanny Hill) at Snowmass.

HOLY SHIT. Dude this is the Lift 2 At Snowmass. And this is from the Early 70's. 1971 or 72. The building is the pump house that the VX and Fanny crosses over.

Dude,

Please upload all pics that you have of this lift.

When I get a moment, I'll upload some more pics, although I don't think there are many more of the lift.

Well if there are more pics of the ASC resorts from that time period I would love to see.

that is true, I learned to ski at snowmass in the early 80s and I distinctly remember the fanny hill double ending very close to where the burlingame return terminal is.

random memory/story, when I was about 4 or 5 years old, I was in ski school and riding up the fanny hill double when the girl i was riding up with fell off the chair, broke both arms if i remember correctly. anyway, my parents have photos of my dad skiing with me in that general area from back then, can't remember if they show the lifts but i'll look next time i'm at my folks house.

Here's what I have from that batch of photos. I rescanned the ones from above, and they turned out a little better. I'll try to find others when I have some time on my hands.

That last one's not Burlingame, maybe Sam's Knob.

That is definitely Sams knob. Looks like the lift followed a different line than the current one

You are correct. I took a closer look. Basicly it's the line of the Current VX...

So let me get this straight. Pictures 1 and 2 are Burlingame and picture 3 is Sam's Knob?

The Sam Knob lift runs a line to the right of the Current VX line. The return terminal was where the ski school hut is now at the mid station of the VX. Will take a couple of pics of the old lift line this weekend.

As will need to be mentioned, the Fanny Hill lift did cross the pump house.

Or as well saying the Village Express starts following the old Fanny Hill lift line, then runs up the pre-2005 segment of the Burlingame lift line to the midway unload, then up the old Sam's Knob lift line from the midway unload to the upper terminal.

Donald, The VX does not go up the old Sams Knob lift line. The old Sams Knob line is to the right of the uphill side of the VX. Just fyi.
