Did you get a glimpse of the partially completed Stagecoach lift at the bottom of Moonlight? I know the towers are in, don't know about the terminals.

It appears to me you had a GREAT TIME!

Big Sky really is a world class mountain. Sorry if this is off topic, but it seems like people here in the Northeast are oblivious to the fact that skiing even exists outside of Colorado and Utah in the West. I can't tell you how many times people have been shocked to hear there is great skiing in Montana and Washington, which in my opinion have just as good or better skiing than CO and UT. Probably it's because they don't have the huge airports villages close by.

It is true. While Utah has amazing snow and great resorts so does many areas of the West. I've been fortunate to get to ski at places like Jackson, Big Sky etc and they really are world class resorts. Even beyond the 'big name' resorts there are others that are also ones you'd never want to miss. I'd include places like Bridger Bowl and Alpental in that conversation, not as big as Big Sky and the like but still wonderful resorts with great terrain etc.

Great pictures by the way I especially liked the Challenger pics, can't get enough pictures of the one Superior lift I know of.

Glad you had a great time and by any chance did you get a chance to eat at Buck's T4?

I was never amazed by Big Sky when I was there, probably because I felt it was so much like Mt. Bachelor. I guess my skiing experience was lower than my expectations because of the poor skiing conditions and limited terrain open. I don't think anyone likes to dodge rocks and pay full price with only 30% of the mountain being open.

Yeah, Big Sky is definitely better in later season.

do you mind to post one or two pictures of the tram? (you posted two pictures at the top of the tram without the tram) So I would like to see the tram. I apprecaite it.

This is the only one I have "stored on line". I had the chance to get first tracks in Liberty....




I also got to ski "Big" with a 'troller and that was a blast!

Actually I enjoyed all your photos Sage; spent a week at Big Sky in late February and had a blast. Especially liked the terrain in the Gullies, Lenin, Liberty, and Big Rock Tongue off the Challenger lift. Pretty nice place to ski.

The picture was taken after the left person's 21st birthday party. So being passed out on the couch was acceptable. Didn't stop everyone else from messing with him though.
