If anyone is curious of the process that's involved with deicing a lift, I have found a video on YouTube of Mt. Bachelor's lift maintenance crew deicing Outback and Northwest Express after the recent ice storm that rolled in.

Wake me up! I am having a nightmare. Ah yes those were the days on the west slopes of Mt. Hood. At least we always put our chairs in the barn at night. Looks like fun but trust me it gets old after awhile. Hey Willis you should make video.

Or maybe this is all pure gibberish—a product of the demented imagination of a lazy drunken hillbilly with a heart full of hate who has found a way to live out where the real winds blow—to sleep late, have fun, get wild, drink whisky, and drive fast on empty streets with nothing in mind except falling in love and not getting arrested . . . Res ipsa loquitur (it speaks for it self). Let the good times roll." HT

My first 4 1/2 years as a lift mech. at good old Mt. B some 18 years ago. Don't miss that. I don't think alot of the folks that I worked with in Co. would do that for the pay that we got.

I'm glad we don't get that here in Wisconsin. I guess -35 temps aren't so bad. You just have to warm stuff up enough to run and propane heaters do the trick nicely, even if it does take some time.
