Name or advertise on a Chair

Put your money into a ski area you believe in . A place with epic terrain. A place designed for riding, not shopping.

FOR $350.00
You can adopt a full chair.

Your name of choice will be placed across a full chair (some restrictions apply).

WE/YOU will decide which chair number to claim (I'm sure by now 69 is taken) and what name/title to put on the chair. The board is open for input on this.

WHAT's in it for you? Well, I'm going to give away 3 prizes to the top 3 donators. Everyone else who donates will get two tickets to any Utah premier of TGR's new vid "The Prophecy". You decide the show.

1st place will get a TGR Mind the Addiction DVD and VHS

2nd place will get a MSP High Society VHS vid

3rd place will get a TGR Mind the Addiction VHS

If you want to donate, click the image and you can donate using a credit card at PayPal.com Paypal can be confusing and if you aren't signed up they dangle $5 for you if you do. However, some of you may not want to do that so just drop me an e-mail to powstash@feedthehabit.com . If you just go to the PayPal homepage to donate, my user name is my e-mail addy from above.

Ulty_Guy and Powderboy have each committed $20. I'll drop another $20. We're up to $60. Just $290 more to go so we can name the chair.

This would be a good way to promote the site. :)

That would be kinda fun to ride up a lift and see the skilifts.org logo on the back of the chair in front of you
people would definetly notice it and maybe they would visit it...

As far as names on chairs, sugar bowl has this on a few of their lifts (christmas tree, nob hill and disney express). It would be cool to see skilifts.org, but thats a lot of money, but not really since it is pretty much pernament untill the lift is removed.

I've never seen ads on a lift before, except in pictures. But it would be a good way to make money. What resorts in the US and Canada have them besides Sugar Bowl/

They arn't really ads, they are donator plates. A lot nicer looking and they don't get annoying on your ride up. They are basically just a Silver Plate on the back of the carrier with black font.

The Windsor at Mt. Ashland has them:

I believe Whaleback in NH does the same thing, but instead the business or person gets to do what they want with decorating the chair. You "adopt" a chair of your choice (that hasn't already been adopted) for something like $300 or $400, and then you can paint it any way you want. The only provisions of it is that the chair numbers must be visible and readable from a distance on both sides.
Chairlift n. A transportation system found at most ski areas in which a series of chairs suspended from a cable rapidly conveys anywhere from one to eight skiers from the front of one line to the back of another.

i was there yesterday for their closing day. i thought the names on chairs was pretty pointless, the large spacing between chairs made it impossible to see what was on the chair in front of you, for more pics check out my post on Brad's site: http://www.colorados...topic.php?t=928

2000 foot vertical & 15 towers -> you can probably extrapilate a rough estimate of the inclined legnth from this? the legnth & ride time were very close to Twister & teocalli here at Crested Butte.

With Google Earth it is about a mile long. (.94 mile to be exact), about 5000 feet

Actually another Yan engineering answer to less rope tension by using off-set towers on the upline allowing the downline to free span 3-4 typical tower spacing lengths. Reduces drag, etc.....Poma uses this frequently on fixed grip scenarios. Can't say I ever saw one on a detach yet!

Big Red Express at Whistler has a contour tour near the bottom. As you can probably know, it's a former YAN HSQ.
