I've seen 8 foot crowns on SM avvys before. One must pay attention to the "bed surface"
when blowing snow on steeper slopes.

One related note: years ago at JH we had a prominent ropeway Engineer come by and inspect our chairlifts.
He climbed up a Riblet double's tower and demonstrated how easily one could get the tower to swing side to side
but not so easy to get it to swing parallel with the ropes. Why? Com line stabilized the towers.....

So, Perfect North musta had loose Com line clamps........ :D

"Tisk tisk. Bad snowmaking / grooming practices""

Stuff happens. Try making snow by the books in Cincinnati. I think Chip and his guys know more than many out there. With the # of guns ( I think with around 300+ tower mounted SMI's Polecats) they thrive in a 'non-ski' enviroment. I am sure they make any second they can. And grooming, I cannot speak for their practices, but they are one of they few with a winch in the midwest.

Just when things were starting to look good it all slid down hill. So much for the Thanksgiving weekend opening.

Res ipsa loquitur (it speaks for it self). Let the good times roll." HT
