Looks like stowe is replacing the little spruce double (Riblet) with a HS quad this summer :( This lift was such a classic. It is impecably maintained, looks like it is fresh out of the Riblet factory. I hope it finds a new life somewhere. It will be sorely missed.

Anyway it is being replaced by a HS quad. In addition the mity mite is being replaced by a triple. At least we get to keep the big spruce roebling for another year or 2.

It's more the Big Spruce double that would have to be replace. It takes over 15 minutes to ride it

It's sad for the little Spruce double. I rode it only once this season and it looked like new. But it's slow

Do you know if it will be a Poma or a Doppelmayr Ctec?

i learned to ski at stowe...i remember skiing at spruce mountain, good memories! Taking the Forerunner quad was such a step up for me...my dad made me ski liftline, which was a double-diamond...first one ever. Anyway, stowe has both Pomas and Doppelmayrs, but the last one built was the gondola by Poma in like 1993 or so.

Actually the gondola was built in 1991 by Poma. The FourRunner Quad in 1986 by doppelmayr.

The liftline trail is really a good challenge such as Starr, National, Goat, and ChinClip. You can hike to the summit and ski the backside

Maybe they can move it to some other part of the mountain. Do they have any expansion plans?

They havent decided between Poma and Doppelmayr yet. Bids arent back or arent sent or something like that.

This is a little bit off-topic, but when a resort wants to buy a lift, how late in the season can they order it and still have it ready in time for the next season?

I think IVGID ordered the lift for Diamond Peak really late in the season. I'm not sure when, but it was probably after april.

...and they still hadn't finished it before they had almost enough snow to open the place

True, but they still had it open by the planned opening day (I think they tested it the day right before).

I wonder what they would have done if they had tested it and something went wrong...

Opened the lower part of the mountain, then repaired it in a hurry. It doesn't matter that much since the area is owned by the city of Incline Village and it doesn't normally turn a profit anyway (the HSQ may change that).
